Welcome

A colleague once told me she believed all therapy was about grief—stemming from fear of abandonment, fear of failure, and/or fear of being unlovable or unworthy.

Sometimes there is a specific loss: the devastating death of a partner, parent, friend, or sibling; loss of health; or loss of a relationship.  We often feel "I will never get over this." Significant loss is not something we "get over." Over time the rawness of the wound begins to heal. There is no timetable. Healing happens at its own pace.

I have over 33 years of experience working within the LGBT community, whether it’s been for our rights and safety or for peace of mind. Anxiety, fear, grief and bereavement, depression, communication, confusion, transitions in life are issues among my areas of expertise. Let’s talk.

If you do not live in the DC area, please go to http://www.lgbtcenters.org to find your nearest LGBT Community Center. Call them to see if they can provide referrals.
